what's going on in WA? Talked to Marcus Saunders the other day and he told me he scored some of the best waves of his wave-filled life in washington state last week! he surfed the lefts along the Strait, south of vancouver island.. he said he caught some of the longest rides of his life!!

Got back from the midwest last night. Didn't get any on the Great Lakes. Looking forward to getting wet again but bummin' with a summer cold.

If you click the time at the end of one of E's posts rather than the 'Comments' link, the same comments page will open up in your main browser window rather than in the little popup window. E, we can change the comments link to do this and ditch the little popup window altogether if you want. I don't think there's a way to get the blog software to add target="_blank" to the auto-linked urls in comments.

Regarding the popups: I always view it in-line, like Matt says, but by clicking on the date on the calendar.

Regarding the surf: I just got outta the water. Some kinda juice is starting to show up, winds light offshore, shoulder high and rippable on sets. Bikinis, etc. Kellys suxxxx crowd wise. Obnoxious. I finally came to the sad realization that I just wasn't ever gonna be part of the Ft Point gang, and paddled down to Cabrillo for a much better time.

NO WAY!! thanks for the update Robme! i might bust outta here a bit early and try to get some of that.. conditions today and yesterday have randomly improved as the day went on.. hmm..

Where's the one on the left from?

The one on the right is definately a frame from an old Rick Griffin comic strip. He did a lot of early surf mag art in the 60's, and he also did a lot of trippy album covers in the 70's and some amazing paintings and illustrations. He died on PCH in a motorcycle accident, traveling up the coast to recon some mysto spots, I hear.
