fun but sloppy. warm!
Summer…oooh oooh oohh ooohh..
The Summertime rolls.. ahh ahhh ahhh..
Ok.. Jane’s Addiction is rad and all.. but seriously, this morning felt like summer. Warm air, warm water, sloppy junky fun laugh-along waves. After getting up at the dingleberry-crack of dawn and foolishly driving all over creation I ended up at good ol’ sloppy-jalopy Lindy with Kaiser and CK and I’m sure other of you cats. OB was definitely better but my friend from high school was with me so we were driving around, checking the coast and all the spots, experiencing the grandiose beauty of the misty mountainous morning… ended up at the ‘Mar. The water was crazy warm. Possibly trunkable for a 20 minute sesh in the middle of the day? ‘specially for all y’all spare-tire crew. Looks like the swell is down. SF buoy is actually at 5.6ft 6sec.. But most of the other buoys are still showing the groundswell.. down to around 11 or 12 seconds now. It’s fading.. definitely short-lived.. but.. nice to have some juice after quite possibly the longest drought in bay-area surfing through the last 5 years? It looks like the next week might be more sloppy windswell in store for us. Oh yeah!
Still some throaty bombs out at OB for anyone interested.. you just have to get in the right spot and take-off under the ledge and generally make it happen. Somebody like Lewis or Alex Martins could find some pits no problem.
I had this dream last night where I was jacket-and-tie-clad student at some stuffy boarding school and Miles Davis came to play a show. All the students packed into this room and then Miles walked in and acted all surly and rude. Then I felt embarrassed because the other students were requesting songs from “Kind of Blue,” which I knew annoyed Miles. He then asked me directly and I requested a tune off Agharta, which is more of a later, jazz-fusion album, and his face lit up in a smile and he started blowing on his horn. Then I was walking around campus at night and the mood was all spooky and eery and there were giant tendrils of moss hanging from the trees and someone offered my ecstasy for $100 and I refused..
Weird dream.
also.. anyone out there have a base and base amp that i could borrow after work today??

I forgot why I loved this site so much last winter. You all call the conditions before they hit down here. Someone called it perfectly yesterday....Last night and this morning was all junky, funky, and mostly closed out. Great to feel some power finally though and feel some drops-to-closeout-barrels/thrashings.
Ahhhh, it felt great this morning to have had the chance to pump into some shiznit.
I work on visual effects for a geeky sci-fi show and i surf DP religiously.
Posted by: Hb at August 26, 2004 10:13 AMyesterday, driving the coast. best day to drive the coast. sun, waves, and waves. nuff said.
on other notes... oil prices are affecting our little industry. glassing costs are gooooooooing up. shit.
on other notes... sharks have ate people before.

Posted by: e at August 26, 2004 10:26 AMBEAUTIFUL morning this morning! and i noticed the water was insanely warm last night, too. el nino 2k4 coming on strong?
Posted by: j at August 26, 2004 10:27 AMseriously hot this morning at ob. Whole winter without booties- is it possible? woo hooo...beautiful morning at the beach, but did anyone else notice the ridiculous amount of bird shit? Maybe its always that bad but this morning, with the heat of the sun, it stank like hell. mmmm...ob.
thanks to everyone who provided bigger wave board beta yesterday.
Posted by: luke at August 26, 2004 10:30 AMYesterday I was too warm in my very old very bad condition flexy XCel. I may need to start using the spring suit.
Still haven't sold my 8'6". It's used, a proven performer, perfect for a first outer bars board.
Posted by: blakestah at August 26, 2004 10:35 AMI hit Ram Adnil 7 - 8:40 or so. Wandered from southish to northish, nabbing a few tiny but glassy nuggets on the (over-optimistically chosen) shortboard. Maybe I got in some of y'all's way.
Anyone from the Monterey area want to tender some advice or meet up for dp at secret spot codename Ramolisa or driveably nearby tomorrow or Saturday? if so email anon-KloolessKook at craigslist dot org.
Posted by: Klooless at August 26, 2004 10:37 AMHad foggy good time after work near the spot recommended by kdalle.
Managed to break the leash plug which in turn made for a two good swims.
Twas good and warm as well....which was strange to me since the tide was incoming. Usually outgoing tides are the warms ones this time of year.
This morning, I suffer the slings and arrows of having a 40 hour work week and be swamped with work that has to be "done before Fiday".
Posted by: Mr Doof at August 26, 2004 10:44 AMI just saw a butterfly outside my office. I look forward to the beach this weekend.
I think some of the folks on the site are a little too accustomed to bad waves. I am glad they are stoked to surf, but yesterday at least in the evening was a little dumpy and a lot of closeouts. Not all that... in fact some of the smaller windswell days had better shape, but of course less ungh...umph
hope folks are having a good surf this morning..wish I could be in SC.....
Posted by: PEZ at August 26, 2004 10:44 AMThat was the longest swell drought in at least 8 years, I think. That's as long as I've lived here, so it might be longer? Anyway, glad the buoys are supplying some non-grovel OB sessions once again....MM
Posted by: MONKEY MILK at August 26, 2004 10:49 AMI walked in the band just sucked
The singer couldn't carry a tune in a bucket
Was on a mission to drown her memory but
I thought no way with all this ruckus
But after one round with Jose Cuervo
I caught my boots tapping 'long with the beat
And after two rounds with Jose Cuervo
That band was sounding pretty darn good to me
Then some stranger asked me to dance
And I revealed to her my two left feet
Said don't get me wrong I'm glad you asked
But tonight's about me and an old memory
Then after three rounds with Jose Cuervo
I let her lead me out on the floor
And after four rounds with Jose Cuervo
I was showing off moves never seen before
Well around five or round six
I forgot what I came to forget
And after round seven, or was it eight
I bought a round for the whole damn place
And after nine rounds with Jose Cuervo
Posted by: j at August 26, 2004 10:57 AMThey were countin' me out I was about to give in
And after ten rounds with Jose Cuervo
I lost count and started counting again
Some Fall Flavor to Savor
Well good day in the mornin. Drove the coast yesterday southie bound and even thou I pretty much missed the tide it was still worth seeing an actually groundswell hitting the coast. Todays sultry entertainment was worth the drive again. San Mateo County provided some sunshine, warmish water and yes more swales. Good to see smiles for a change.
What is the forecast for this evening?

as e mentioned fun (because of the gorgeous morning, friends, warm water and attitude...certainly not because of the waves) little slop-fest at the infamous 'Mar this morning. just what i needed after 5 days dry. saw e slink into a remarkably shapely (given the conditions) right, stick tight in the pocket, and trim with style. nice! saw another dude on a blue (epoxy?) board score the wave of the day on one of the few peeling lefts. enjoyed rappin' with e's cool high-skool amigo. topped off the sesh with a donut and a coffee. not bad....not bad at all.
Posted by: ck at August 26, 2004 11:06 AMbase and base amp?
BASS you mean?
Posted by: at August 26, 2004 11:07 AMAh, another day, another claim! I had the best chocolate donut and coffee this morning post session. The donut was a little more fried than usual, just enough crispy edges to satisfy! The chocolate bar was bigger then normal, so I got more for my money. Also, the glaze was up there. Not your day old, left-over type, but full on freshly baked. Possibly baked early this morning, suppose around 4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m. or so.
Anyway, the surf was fun this morning. Much better then it looked. The sun was out, it smelled like Fall when I walked out my door. Good to surf with the "usual" heads in the water. Gotta ride the mocha turd for the first time. Interesting board from Ward Coffey. Conditions really cleaned up out there from beginning to end.
Where should I surf @ lunch? I need a handful of sand like Jesper Parnivick....
Posted by: Kaiser at August 26, 2004 11:08 AMgot some fun ones last night with kaiser toward the north end of an eerily foggy ob. saw a broken board in the trash down by kelly's, and heard from a guy at sloat that it was breaking on the outer bars.
in response to cave question yeaterday, i seem to fit the profile -- i work as an analyst for a non-profit (affordable housing), do web & database & research/writing. i have a somewhat flexible schedule and a very reasonable supervisor.

Posted by: at August 26, 2004 11:13 AMI hope some peeps got good waves yesterday. Saw some crazy closeout waves along the coast--looked like patience would've persevered, but my Australian friend and I opted for hops instead of brown foam. The fog looked eerie--like being in the middle of a forest fire. Good onya'll that ventured behind the curtain of fog. The Riptide was hoppin' yesterday evening. Hmm, suds or foam? Someone say a quick prayer to the ocean and pick up some trash, maybe Neptune/Gaia will be kind enough to throw some more waves our way.

Posted by: SF_AIDS_HIV at August 26, 2004 11:15 AMOh yeah, last night recap:
Got to the beach around 6:30, totally fogged in for those that didn't check a cam, drive by, etc. Could hardly see the water ANYWHERE along the highway. Walking to the water's edge didn't help much either.
Saw about a 8'0'' funboard in 2x4' pieces get placed in a garbage can at Slizz! but yet, I couldn't see a wave within sight.
Suited up down south and just paddled out. Visibility was surprisingly good considering once out. Loon paddled up as if he just took a little stroll down from Sloat thru the fog. Waves looked really good but were tough to get a good set up. pretty mushed out.

Posted by: Ill_argue at August 26, 2004 11:25 AMHit the beach at an early-alphabet avenue. Weirdly warm, and the water had a distinct red tint to it. Combine those factors with pelicans and gulls diving all around me and the fact that I was the only chap out as far as the eye could see, and it got mighty creepy. Caught a couple racy lurchers and made it a short sesche.
E- I have a Fender bass and amp - will be at home (Cole Valley) in the 6:30-ish hour this pm. Throw me an email if you want to grab 'em.
Posted by: redworm at August 26, 2004 11:26 AMI've been partial to the Entenmann's Softee Cinnamon Popettes of late. They are great for after surf, a puff, or meal. I haped on to them by these two kids so stoned with munchies that when they saw they were on sale they bought two boxes a piece. They are soft and sweet and go good with anything.
As far as the work thing goes I am now a warehouse whore for a snowboarding company. As there is now snow right now, I have some liesure time so I am living through all of you as to how the surf might be.

GEORGE W. BUSH
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 20520
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Law Enforcement:
I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.
Military:
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.
College:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.
PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS:
- I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America.
- I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.
- I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.
- With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:
- I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.
- I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.
- I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.
- I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.
- I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.
- I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.
- I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month.
- I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleezza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.
- I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President.
- I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations.
- My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron.
- My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.
- I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history. I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to
intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.
- I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.
- I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.
- I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history.
- I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.
- I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.
- I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.
- I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.
- I refused to allow inspector's access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.
- I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).
- I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.
- I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.
- I garnered the most sympathy ever for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.
- I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of mankind.
- I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community.
- I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families in wartime.
- In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends.
- I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.
- I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.
- I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice.
RECORDS AND REFERENCES:
-All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.
- All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.
- All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review.

I said this last year, and I will say it again this year. I have not felt, in my time here since 96, an offshore wind of more than 2-3 knots before October. I don't care what anyone else says. It may be an offshore wind over the inland hills, but it is not going to blow into the wave faces. September is the time of warm air and water, and still winds, and Indian summers.
Besides, high pressure is not going to push over the Great Basin. The best we will get is a north flow (which works pretty well for me), but is still not an offshore at the beach.
Friday afternoon and Saturday morning are looking pretty GOOOOOD.

Posted by: steve-o at August 26, 2004 01:38 PM1. Agree with the Person comments. Both boards I got delammed in less than a year, one broke. Heavier glass isn't always better though. There's more to it than that.
2. I'm gonna resist naming spots where it's good, even through obscure references. Seems I've been blamed for the crowds at a certain locale yesterday.
3. RED TIDE ALERT!
4. Saw my first broken board of the season on my way out this a.m.
5. Let's hope there is an inverse correlation between the amount of swell and the bad vibes that have crept into E's blog.
6. Keep the stoke. Keep surfing no matter what.

2) work hours must be dependent on surf conditions
3) no cubes, nada
4) no computers (4-5 blocks from the ocean, no need to check reports, just go surf)
5) free surf products when needed (I ain't greedy just sometimes you need a new board you know?)
6) good music playing on the stereo (not on headphones, stereo, so everyone is on the same page musically)
7) music instruments set up in the back room for stress relieving jams (1 es-335, 1 late 60's strat, 1 fender jazz bass, 1 old school drum set, 1 fender rhodes, 1 hammond b-3 with leslie, can probably think of more but then this would be pages long)
8) last but not least, a vaporizer with volcano attachment
So where should I send my resume?

Also, where can you pick up that video of Curren and Occy dueling it out at Bells Beach during that famous contest?

OB: sorry so late, crazy day...beautiful sun out, still thumping, but woe, the wind machine is all over it ! A couple of takers and they're working hard.
e, I had a dream years ago that I was playing an outdoor jazz improv gig w/Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Mingus, and mabye 2-3 other ridiculous musicians. We were playing a slow jazz ballad - my WORST - and the kicker was, I was playing in the dream exactly how I would have played in real life. Mortifying. In the dream I was trying to be as ppp as possible so Miles wouldn't hear me and get pissed off!
Posted by: s.s. sharkbait at August 26, 2004 03:03 PMwow, just went on the coolest tour. i've been taking this botany class at the local community college, did a tour of some farm out in HMB. pretty interesting stuff, took a few pictures to share with you guys.
here's a close-up of some basil, or was it thyme?

here's one of the artichokes the guy had growing, looks like it may be going to seed though

a young maple tree?

i think this was purple coneflower, aka echinacea

a couple tomato plants

some sunflowers...i guess they're not in season

anyways, back to work. hope you enjoyed my field trip as much as i did.
Posted by: j at August 26, 2004 03:09 PMJust a quick heads up that there's a Surfrider SF Chapter gathering at the Beach Chalet bar tonight at 7 pm. If you'd like to get involved, make a suggestion in person, or have a beer, come on by.
Posted by: adam at August 26, 2004 03:12 PMre: pearsons and broken boards....
glass and more of it is NOT the answer
BUT it seems that 4oz glass all over is
their trademark. the inverse stringer is
a good way too....two small stringers with
grain running the opposite way laminated
to form a stronger stringer of normal weight..
or a triple stringer if you wanna go that route....
i am hopefully getting a new sf surf shop 9'0"
pintail longboard with the aforementioned
stringer. if i break that then i am going for
the triple......
so FUN to have some surf.
cheers to all those getting wet today.

Any surfing in Italy?
korewin - you going w/ volan on that? do a heavy volan glass job if you're looking for a fun, glidey longboard for small days. the extra weight helps out when there's some chop on the water...not that we get winds here in the summer.

Posted by: seth s. at August 26, 2004 03:40 PMRegarding Pearsons breaking.
All boards are pretty much use the same clark foam and glass. If your board broke, bring it in and talk to Bob about it. He will likely set you up with a heavyer duty blank and or heavyer glass job.
An off the rack Pearson or any other board for that matter is most likely for Santa Cruz or Southern Cal waves, which aren't quite as battering as OB.
I've found just from droping in late at OB and it's neighbor causes tons of pressure cracks, which weaken the board to rely on the stringer only.
Posted by: at August 26, 2004 03:41 PMWow, linda mar and the jetty look good in photos?
Posted by: at August 26, 2004 03:44 PMThat purple sunflower weed is depression city. It looks pretty, but the shit will have you hang yourself in a closet on a gloomy day.
Posted by: kneelo at August 26, 2004 03:46 PMthanks korewin, i was about to ask about that (pearson glass weight).
i'm re-reading the section on surfboard weight vs. strength in orbleman's "essential surfing".
if they're 4oz'ing the whole thing that would seem atypical as e.s. indicates 4oz on the bottom and 6oz on the deck is typical.
i was in haut's shop the other day and noted the newer shapes on the rack seemed to have pretty light glass too. at least, compared to an older (circa 1990) haut i still have... currently tbe board i've got that is holding up the best all around, is a coffey.
anyone have opinions on whether or not hitting the blank with acrylic prior to lamination really helps?
Posted by: g at August 26, 2004 03:47 PMJ has been on like a 3 week roll with the quick ones...
but I got the honey shot for today. Kaiser let's see what cha got?
I'm calling it borderline but acceptable.(If not leave as link but it deserves "live status" or at least "live after five"
http://www.bangedup.com/post.php?media=716
Posted by: tomstah at August 26, 2004 03:48 PMps: ya, it was off the rack, and i knew it wasn't setup for the surf up here in terms of strength. the shape worked great though.
tom: that's borderline for sure.
Posted by: at August 26, 2004 03:54 PMgood god! that "flossing" shot could never be better named
Posted by: at August 26, 2004 03:54 PMhttp://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid79/p75416fa40b5db6fce5e2ee7e62f4f875/fb0fe0b5.jpg
Posted by: thedonk at August 26, 2004 03:56 PMThe "Essential Surfing" section on board strength against snappage is nice.
Rule 1. Thicker board is better
Rule 2. Multiple stringers is better
Better/thicker glass may not help much. The first step is the glass delamming from the stringer on the side on which pressure is applied. Then, snappage is imminent.
There's a coupla SWEET looking Bernhardt longboards at SF Surfshop right now - 9 footers, gloss coat, purty.
I can't check my email - server won't let me in. Try dblake AT phy.ucsf.edu. Or call me 415-515-2659
I get 6 oz top and bottom, on a gun I'd get 6 oz bottom and 6+4 on the deck (a patch), and go extra thick. My 8'6" is 2 7/8".
Thin guns (2 1/2" or less) do not survive up here.
Posted by: blakestah at August 26, 2004 04:00 PMyes...possibly borderline.
but i have not played as of yet in the pics realm. hell, i can't even get my pics live, just the links.
so i figured if i'm going to play...i'm gonna play to win. go for the knockout. or crash and burn with a disqualification....
votes need to be in by tomorrows update.
Posted by: tomstah at August 26, 2004 04:05 PMwhen i floss real deep my gums bleed.
Posted by: j at August 26, 2004 04:06 PMSorry to have to chime in again...not true about Bob Pearson. I called him on it both times and he offered...nothing. The only reason I went back for the second board was because Jobson was working there at the time and he shaped all my boards for years. After he left I never went back and I never will and I'd never recommend his boards to anyone.
1. Glassing is about chemistry, if the conditions, materials and procedures from mixing through sanding are not right the job will not be right.
2. Too heavy a glass job will tend to delaminate over time as the glass job will not bend easy so it will lose its adherence to the foam where it is compresses from standing, grabbing, etc. The glass will eventually pop off the foam and then....delam!
Posted by: kdalle at August 26, 2004 04:12 PMIf I had a nickel for every statement a 20 year veteran has started with
"blakestah, during the drought years..."
Here is 1988. Lots of no winds, no real offshores in September.
5th column is wind direction (need 30 to 120), 4th column is wind speed.
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/data/view_text_file.php?filename=46026h1988.txt.gz&dir=/ftp/data/historical/stdmet/
I also checked 86, 87 (buoy failed), and 89, and found NO OFFSHORE WINDS IN SEPTEMBER over about 4 knots. And even those were pretty scarce. I'm not saying it has never happened, but it is a meteorologically rare event to have a 5-10 knot offshore stacking the waves up in September. Inland heating works against the offshores, once the inland cools a little, the offshores can blow.
I'm also convinced something really magical happened during the drought years that makes people remember them so fondly...
Posted by: blakestah at August 26, 2004 04:25 PMI'm not really into Pearsons, but he used to hook me up in the days before the Mavericks hype.
I'd rather have these kiddies buy from him than surftech, or some other Taiwanese crap.

Posted by: at August 26, 2004 04:31 PMfunny how half the readership of this here blog seem to be professional web designers (including e himself) and the other half seem to be html illiterate. so for as a public service announcement, here are a couple links to a couple of my favorite html resources online.
Posted by: big g at August 26, 2004 04:34 PMembedding images: w3schools and devguru
embedding links: w3schools and devguru
or you could just do a "view source" in your browser and look at how everyone else does it...
blakestah, during the drought years, offshores blew from july to march. it was 72 degrees every morning but never got much above 80 or so during the day. naked women walked the length of ocean beach as endless sets of alternating overhead, doubleoverhead, and tripleoverhead waves broke, and as fallen heroes washed ashore, they offered comfort and succor to the hardy warriors. once recovered, they would retire to tents along the great highway, where shapers and glassers would be waiting to discuss your next board selection, over a freshly poured beer from the nearby kegs being constantly delivered (among other things) from points further north.
and then the internet came along.
Posted by: letterman army brat at August 26, 2004 04:46 PMDamn internet! Weed was $25-30 an 1/8 then too!

If a girl is bringing too much attention to herself because of her appearence.. that turns me off.. I'll look, but i don't want.
you and tomstah can have all the pampered, haughty, high-heeled, tight-jeaned, make-up clad, fake-blond, Marina-styled ladies you like.. though i think that Tomstah likes a wide-range of femalians..

Posted by: nijima_island_style at August 26, 2004 05:53 PMits all gravy, e. i'm down with all kinds of girls...but when it comes to internet leering, i tend towards the classic slutty looks. it kind of voyeuristic- i've never actually dated a girl that looked like that, the personality that tends to go with the look turns me off.
Posted by: luke at August 26, 2004 06:09 PMbut enough of this shit- fuck work, time to get baked and go surfing!
Posted by: luke at August 26, 2004 06:10 PMScore one for the cubicle rats. No, I didn't get to the beach this morning as the flourescent lighting and recycled air required my attendance. But I did find the Coastal Engineering Manual does have a section on surf zone waves. Granted, the state of the science is still a half step above vodoo, but it might give you a different perspective and some context to consider the waves. And you already paid for it with your tax dollars.
