Glad to hear that you made it to that spot down south. Did you take the boat to that certain point and score?? I got some awesome waves there on a 1.5X OH day. Got stuck on the inside once and exhausted my energy paddling out to the point (ended up 200 yds from the point). Lucked out that day as it was just me and one other guy surfing.

Posted by: s.s. sharkbaitya traut, how great is that wave? jeezus. when we were there there was a pro contest up the coast a ways so we surfed it the best day with jimmy roterdam or whatever his name is and a couple of his buddys who were absolutly destroying it. we timed it right though and they bailed after about an hour and we scored it all to our selves, a little more blown out but still pretty effing perfect..
im thinking that area will be overrun in at least a couple of years. the locals wont be stoked..
Posted by: bajeli think it would suck if you had to discontinue this site and start another up. i don't know if that is what is entailed in changing to new software, but i think one of the many cool things about this site is the history that is being built and if there were a break in the continuity that would suck. i have seen it with other blogs, where they started out on blogger or whatever and switched over to a snazzier site and I think it's kinda lame to lose that old stuff, because who is going to go there when it's not being updated. i don't know. babbling. anyway, it's not that bad. the refresh thing. let me know if i can help. don't know anything about computers though.

the refresh thing is basically a deal-breaker for me. It fricken sucks and the site will slowly die if it doesn't get fixed. Soo.. in order to fix it i either need to upgrade moveable type or start using wordpress. Both claim to offer the ability to import the whole old blog into the new version but i'm just realizing now how bitchy and potentially untenable that is. gar.. i just converted the entire old blog into this humungous text file that's something like 80megs! Fucking spam in those old posts is killing it. Now i'm going to upload it into wordpress. We'll see what happens.
Even if i can't import super cleanly there will still be links to all the archived posts/comments from the main page.
lucky i don't have much work today.

yeah.. The registration basically sucks the life out of the blog. it definitely bites the big one!! shit was getting too hot though.. threats, hatred, bad-vibes, having to police the comments, yadda yadda. not to mention some random dude was hell-bent on hacking niceness and bringing it down. I mean.. what else should we do to make the community fun but without potentially getting me punched in the face?

About a year ago, they quit taping the seems, and in general cheapened the whole wetsuit significantly. I'm thinking of boycotting Oneil suits over this maneuver. It's like they are trying to push me into buying their pricier models.
