Post Love-Supreme Coltrane.
Ascension.
Om.
Interstellar Space.
Lysergic dabblings.
Don Cherry musings.
His own death foreshadowed.
Reaching and striving for that elusive sonic plane.
Rushing headlong into the absract netherworld.
Pushing, hemorrhaging, amassing, erupting.
Fans and critics strewn along the road like bludgeoned offal.
Coltrane striving outward with his whole being.
A space-traveler in previously unknown worlds.
Humanity's illustrious emissary to the gory, dripping purgatory of loose, slipping musical insanity.

Posted by: sd riderFun waves this weekend - for summer and all. Ran into Korwin on Sat, not literally. I surfed barefoot and 3/2'd for three hours on Sat and never got cold. Sunday was bigger and frumpier, and colder. Still fun though, just different.
Two more weeks and off to Japan and Oahu! Stoked but still in disbelief. Hasn't sunk in yet.
Surfing barefoot. I seem to have an issue of busting up my second toe on the trailing foot. Must be lazy getting up or something cuz somehow the toe gets tucked underneath when I stand up, and crack. But purple is such a pretty color...
I watched The Wedding Crashers on DVD this weekend. Funny movie.
Well, that's all I've got.
Posted by: Dennisditto, fun waves especially yesterday
Posted by: andrewmDon Cherry...wow, when I was studying Indian Music in Marin he was around collaborating with some of the more established players...I think he was on of the first to fuse Indian Classical with Jazz?
Dennis, I don't wear booties, never have, and consequently the big toe knuckle on my back foot has fragmented bone shards floating around from a lifetime of bottom turning...given the chance to start over I'd start wearing booties to avoid that, not too mention 97% closure right ear and 87% left ear (you won't catch me without plugs now)....peace in the beast to the niceness crew
yo dennis!
great to see a friendly and recognizable face out
there. good time for sure. the fish was the perfect
ride for me. found a few nice corners and waves
with several turns. yahoooo!
and now, the wind, she howls.
summer. joy.
peace.

Posted by: eThe guy in HB who spotted a shark was surfing nearly 1/5 mile off-shore in 20 feet of water in June? Catching 13’ers (assuming water depth = 1.5x wave height) or what? Maybe that is why “no one else was in my immediate area”?
I think you’re crazy to free-dive anywhere north of about Pt Dume, all those north coast free divers are friggin nuts in my book. Props to whoever does that. I’m not sure all of those socal spottings really need to be recorded. When I used to surf SD in the summer I spotted a couple of sharks per session. Friggin leopard sharks.
Now I’ll probably get chomped. But I doubt it will be when I’m in Malibu.
