Jake's Hurricane Juggernaut

Here's a few random shots, including some shots coming in over the town of ********. The beach breaks were all maxed out and pretty much nonsurfable, but they made for some splendid and powerful viewing.

oh yeah, all of the pics below were at ******* Cove. You can at least see the corduroy sets coming in... but the waves were big, and sooooooo shapely.

hopefully you don't mind the extraneous photos. these shots are from a cool little outing... not that amazing a wave... the winds from the storm were already hurting the coast by this day (last Wed.) but the swell was still pumping.

for some reason, t******, which had been going off the day before, went mysto flat, while the swell was clearly still maxing. so i looked at a map, and saw these two interesting coves just west of *******... no roads though... i ended up ditching my car and hiking through the woods, on a mission, and by following the sound of the ocean, i came out on a clearing on a cliff overlooking a point to my left and a point to my right... it was a pretty cool little find... sorta uncovered two 'secret spots' that aren't so secret (locals know 'em) but i still got some of the thrill of finding 'em. the fact that there were a few people out just made the find that much more legitimate. anyway, the swell wasn't perfect, but a couple of the shots are cool, especially in the context of an exploratory mission. super rocky... i ended up paddling out later for a quick taste... 3 waves and I was out, but the last one sucked and let me in over a rock for a quick sec, not toooo bad. the rights that are breaking to the camera's left are at ****r ****r, and the one shot of a point to the camera's right is the start of *** *****, named for its exclusive access/ownership, and it runs west for a few spots.
